1. Online SSL Validation

Clients should validate the SSL certificate directly online each time they access a service. Storing local copies of certificates is not recommended, as they may become outdated. If a certificate is updated or renewed in DANAconnect, a trust center with local copies will cause service failures by using an invalid SSL.

Clients are responsible for monitoring these certificates if they choose to keep local SSL copies, but real-time SSL validation is the best approach to avoid these issues.

2. CAA Record Configuration in DNS

AWS allows configuring a CAA record for client domains, which authorizes only AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) to issue SSL certificates for those domains or subdomains. Configuring a CAA record ensures that only AWS can issue these certificates, preventing the risk of unauthorized issuance.

Clients should add the following trusted domains to their CAA records for use with DANAconnect on AWS:

Before sending emails from DANAConnect, SPF configuration is required to authorize DANAConnect's servers to send emails on behalf of your company's domain name. Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email validation system designed to prevent email spam by detecting email spoofing, a common vulnerability, by verifying sender IP addresses. SPF allows administrators to specify which hosts are allowed to send mail from a given domain by creating a specific SPF record (or TXT record) in the Domain Name System (DNS). Mail exchangers use the DNS to check that mail from a given domain is being sent by a host sanctioned by that domain's administrators.

In simple terms by creating an SPF record, you are authorizing DANAConnect to send emails with an @yourcompany.com email address.

What are the SPAM WARNING and SPAM DETECTED alarms when a conversation is activated?

Our mailing platform has an alert system that informs you about the performance of your contact list when it is first activated in a conversation. These warning messages are related to the number of emails that bounce during sending.

SPAM WARNING Messages

When you activate your communication, the mailing system begins to monitor the response of email providers and ISPs (Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, among others). When these servers start reporting Hard Bounces (non-existent mailboxes), our system measures the percentage of this type of response. Once a 14% rate is reached, an alarm called “SPAM WARNING” is triggered, which you can see in the reports of your communication. At this point, your sending is temporarily paused, waiting for automatic confirmations from the servers receiving your communication. If the percentage remains the same or decreases, our system continues sending, and the warning notice may even disappear.

SPAM DETECTED Messages

If, on the contrary, the number of bounced emails exceeds and reaches 16%, the system completely stops the email sending and displays a “SPAM DETECTED” message. This alert generated by our system indicates that your communication has reached the blocking level by the email recipient servers. To start sending emails or SMS from your conversations, you have first to create a contact list with at least the email or phone numbers of the people you want to contact. You can watch this video on Vimeo or read the step by step below.

From the Home screen, click on the Contact Manager application icon

To create and send a message (or series of messages) via email, go to the Conversation Manager.

Create a new Conversation.

Select the email channel or an empty conversation, name your conversation and select your contact list or just skip that step and click on create.

Click on the start button.

Add an Email Node to your conversation.

You have then a new Email Node called New Step. Double click on the New Step and the Email Editor window appears.
